Discover one-of-a-kind fluid paintings that capture the sea's endless movement, alongside bold color adventures that celebrate pure artistic expression. Each piece is an original creation, never to be repeated, bringing tranquil energy and vibrant life into your space.
Technique Notes
Created through the acrylic swipe technique using an unexpected palette of off white, magenta deep, quinacridone magenta, pink, light blue, navy blue, and blue black indigo over titanium white. The swipe movement allows these dramatic color contrasts to flow and merge organically, creating natural gradations that feel both surprising and harmonious. The warm pinks and magentas interact with traditional ocean blues to create unique color relationships that challenge conventional ocean imagery while maintaining fluid, water-like movement. The technique produces organic patterns that suggest both oceanic flow and the dreamy quality of romantic sunsets.

Artist's Note
"Pretty in Pink is about creative courage—having the confidence to see the ocean through rose-colored glasses and celebrate the beauty that comes from breaking conventional rules. Sometimes themost beautiful art happens when you dare to be different." —JD Riddle
At JDRiddleArts, every piece captures the boundless energy of the sea through fluid abstract art. Using acrylic pouring techniques, JD Riddle creates original compositions where colors flow and merge like ocean currents, resulting in artwork that's as unique as the tides themselves.
Why Choose Original Fluid Art:
Completely Unique: No two poured pieces can ever be identical—each painting is truly one-of-a-kind
Ocean-Inspired Energy: Bring the tranquil yet dynamic spirit of coastal living into your space
Investment in Originality: Own authentic artwork, not mass-produced prints
Supporting Local Art: Directly support a New Jersey coastal artist and environmental advocate
Museum-Quality Materials: Professional acrylics and archival techniques ensure lasting beauty

J. Derek Riddle
Artist, Owner
Welcome to JDRiddleArts, where the fluid beauty of the ocean meets the spontaneous energy of abstract expression.
I'm JD Riddle, the artist behind every piece you see here. My journey began years ago with watercolors, but I've evolved into acrylic pouring techniques that mirror what initially drew me to art—the unpredictable, organic flow of natural forces.
My Process: Working from my Red Bank, New Jersey studio, I use fluid acrylics that dance and merge in ways I can guide but never fully control. Each piece emerges through a collaboration between artist intention and natural flow, much like the ocean's constant recreation of itself.
Recent Recognition: Featured at the Guild of Creative Arts in Shrewsbury, NJ, and selected for the 45th Annual Juried Exhibition at the Monmouth Museum.
